Wildlife Scoping Surveys are valuable preliminary summary documents to identify whether further survey effort and mitigation will be required.
If conditions are appropriate scoping reports can recommend that full preliminary ecological appraisal and/or further species or habitat specific surveys be conducted.

- Development sites with potential bat foraging habitat - further bat activity surveys will be required
- Works within close proximity to a pond – an assessment for great crested newts may be needed
- Development site on rough grassland – a reptile survey may be required
